A Study on Medicare and Health Condition in a Rural Doctorless Villages


Abstract
In order to study medicare and health condition surveys were conducted on 358 households consisting of 2.86 persons in six townships in chun chun-myon. Jangsu-gun Junrabug Do during the five-day period from 14 to 18 July 1982. Through the surveys, the following conclusion has been reached :
1. The surveyed populace was broken down by interview into 34.6 percent for household and the age group of 51 to 60 years constitued the greatest proportion or 36.3 per cent of the population.
2. They were broken down by education into 41.3 per cent for primary school graduates and 32.1 per cent for uneducated person.
3. They were broken down by occupation into 79.6 per cent for agiculture.
4. The number of persons per household was approximately 6.4
5. Out of 358 populace surveyed through interviews 205 populace had been sick.
6. The average number of sick was 43.7 per cent for disease of ciculatory system and 28.8 per cent for disease of digestive system.
7. The greatest proportion or 38.0 per cent of them received from pharmacies, 16.6 per cent from hospitals or clinics and 14.1 per cent from oriental medicine.
